My Horses!

This is the first day I have really gotten around to photographing my new horse Chrome A Zone.   I’ve got to say… the boy is kind of drop dead gorgeous if I do say so myself!  He looks a lot like Derby/Preakness winner California Chrome… WITH  his nasal band on.  I thought they had the exact same markings on their faces until I realized that California Chrome doesn’t have the strip across his nose naturally like my guy does!

I normally have an assistant when I do equine sessions but it was just me at the barn so I had about 5 minutes until the rolling in the mud commenced!! But that’s OK- I’ll get some more next week:)  He’s an excellent subject!

Many of you may know that I also have another horse… Max…  who has been my show horse for several years.  I also tried to get some new portraits of him today but I was completely unsuccessful because Max follows me around like a puppy.  I CANNOT get him to go away from me when it’s just the two of us. I need someone else around to shoo him away.   So every shot I got of him was of his nose or his eye or his ear… except this one and it’s charming.

And… in Max’s case… the rolling began in about two minutes…  but he’s so cute when he rolls! His little lip curls because it feels so good!!

Don’t you worry Max… next time I’ll have re-enforcements!  My boys are the best!!!!!
